Gallop to Freedom
I received the just-released book Gallop to Freedom by the Cavalia stars Magali Delgado & Frederic Pignon. Here are some wonderful quotes:
What people do not appreciate is that every time a horse submits to pressure, whether subtle or overt, he is diminished. Probably the great maajority of people who achieve their own ends by making their horse submit are not even aware of what they have done. It is a sad fact that a horse can be made to do many things by breasking his will. If he can be persuaded to give his assent freely and pleasurably rather than give into man’s pressure or clever techniques, he is not diminished.

This quote should be posted far and wide. Those words make we weep with sadness and a kind of desperation. Do you mind if I link back and repost? Thank you for talking about this wonderful book. I think Frederic Pignon is the most amazing horseman alive. If people would LISTEN and HEAR what he says, the world of the domesticated horse and the sport horse would be radically transformed. Unfortunately many will look at the beautiful photos and limit their ability to accept the message that we can all relate to horses in this way. We may not all have the gift he does, but we can all have the same heart.
Thank you.
